SQL server table save not permitted

Sometimes you get a dialog box in SQL server table save not permitted,. It warns you that saving changes is not permitted because the changes you have made require the listed tables to be dropped and re-created.

The following actions might require a table to be re-created:

  • Adding a new column to the middle of the table or drop a column
  • Change column nullable
  • Change columns order
  • Change column data type

How to change this option,

1) Go to Tools menu.

2) Select Options…

3) Expand Designers, and then click Table and Database Designers.

4) Select or clear the Prevent saving changes that require the table to be re-created check box.

It’s Done.

  1. Hello just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.
